Kayak rentals and surf board rentals on the Outer Banks are made easy with the Kitty Hawk Kayak & Surf School. We have a flotilla of single and double Ocean Kayaks for weekly rentals as well as a full quiver of surfboards. We offer free delivery on all weekly rentals and can usually deliver the beach equipment to your door within two hours of your order right to your beach house. You can also come to our store location and paddle around the Kitty Hawk Woods Maritime Forest Preserve. We also rent stand up paddle boards.

These are the best Ocean Kayaks designed specifically for paddling in the ocean. Singles and doubles available. Prices include backrest, life jacket, paddle and delivery.

On Site Kayak Rentals rental kayaks by a launch

Don’t feel like taking a tour. Why not paddle yourself around the Kitty Hawk Preserve’s Maritime Forest. We have the closest launch site to the preserve to make accessing the natural treasure easy as pie. Just come to our store and we will get you set up for your own self-guided adventure. This also saves you a bit of cash instead of paying the tour price.

1 Hour Rates: Single Kayak = $20.00/Double Kayak = $30.00

2 Hour Rates: Single Kayak = $30.00/Double Kayak = $40.00

4 Hour Rates: Single Kayak = $40.00/Double Kayak = $50.00

Surfboard Rentals

We offer rental beginner surfboards for all shapes and sizes. We have a great selection of soft tops, hard tops, short boards, fun boards and long boards to keep you shredding all vacation long!!! $50.00/week $19.00/day Wetsuits If the water feels a bit nippy, why not wear a wetsuit!!!! Keeps the shivers at bay and prolongs your surf session or swim. Don’t let the cold water up-welling keep you out of the water.

Surfboard Rental Rates: $49.00/week or $10.00/day

Stand Up Paddle boards

Have a go at the Stand Up Paddle board (SUP) craze with one of our stand up paddle boards. Take a lesson and then rent a board for the week to hone your skills. Great fun in the ocean or the sound and a great full body workout as well.
